Eibach Lowering Springs :: Subaru Impreza RB5 Owners Club
Although the Impreza handling is pretty good (well compared to my previous cars, it was outstanding), the car did feel very nervous when pushing hard especially at the rear.
After talking over the handling with a few people, the obvious choice was fitting some proper up rated suspension parts including stiffer springs and adjustable dampers. Unfortunately, my budget couldn't justify nearly £1000 so I opted on some replacement lower springs.
A lot of people in the Scooby community raved about the Eibach Pro-Kit springs and at only £115 (from New Age Motorsport), I thought they were a bargain. Fitting was a job for the professionals, so I left it to my Dealer (A F Noble, Penicuik) to fit them at my 30,000 mile service.
The difference wasn't huge, but it definitely reduced the amount of body roll and settled the rear down. When accelerating out of corners, the rear used to feel like it was about to let go (I guess it was just the suspension compressing), but now it doesn't squat as much and feels a lot more firmer. Money well spent in my books :-)
