OZ P-WRC1 18" Alloys & Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's :: Subaru Impreza RB5 Owners Club
Needing some new tyres and having existing wheels looking very tired after 5 years, I decided to fit some 18" alloys and go for an extra bit of "bling". I managed to source some 18" P-WRC1 alloys from Wilsons Subaru as part of a group buy on Scoobynet.
I did consider fitting some Prodrive PFF-7 alloys, but they are an 18x8" alloy with an ET51 offset that could lead to rubbing on the rear arches. The P-WRC1 wheels are an 18x7.5" wheel with a ET53 offset, so shouldn't rub on a classic Impreza.
Not really impressed with my existing Toyo tyres, I decided to go back to my favourite Goodyear Eagle F1's.
18" tyre sizes on a classic should be either 215/35/18 or 225/35/18. I felt the 215 would be a little narrow and a 35 profile would look like a rubber band around the alloy. The 225 width is pretty expensive compared to the other widths and profiles, but they're worth the expense.
I sourced mine from MyTyres, but had them fitted by a friendly fellow Scooby owner at Hi-Q McConnechy Tyres in Broxburn (Edinburgh).
